Abstract:

Recent research has shown that operation of long distance pipelines is considered as a potential polluter of environment by petroleum products. Oil and gas pipeline accidents cause huge damage, leading to serious pollution of nature. The critical serviceable life of main pipelines and their depreciation in combination with violations of safety operating procedures are among the key reasons for contingency situations that are likely to generate serious social, ecological and economic consequences.
